Seismic Micro-Technology Inc. and OpenSpirit Corporation announced that the two companies will provide clients the ability to more easily share data between geoscience applications. SMT will leverage the full power of the OpenSpirit v3.x interoperability framework in an upcoming release of its KINGDOM software. The next-generation SMT KINGDOM(TM) Application Adapter will allow interpreters to work in the user-friendly Windows(R) environment while sharing data with any OpenSpirit-enabled application or data repository. This new relationship will improve the capabilities in both software products, making geoscience collaboration easier. Customers will be able to move data easily between KINGDOM, the leader in Windows-based interpretation, and other OpenSpirit-enabled geoscience applications, regardless of their operating system. Supported applications include Halliburton's (HAL) Landmark OpenWorks(R) software and Schlumberger's (SLB) GeoFrame(R) and Petrel(R) software. Looking to the future, SMT and OpenSpirit will continue working together to improve data connectivity, scalability and performance for customers.
Seismic Micro-Technology Inc. announced that Seismic Ventures Inc. has purchased SMT's KINGDOM 1D Forward Modeling (1DFM). Seismic Ventures is the first company to acquire 1DFM, which interactively models lithologic and reservoir fluid properties to show the effect on seismic traces and tie geology and seismic. This module, fully integrated with KINGDOM, is the first major offering to provide easy to use AVO Modeling and Fluid Workshop capabilities in one place. In addition to offering the industry's newest lithologic and fluid composition modeling technology from SMT, Seismic Ventures' toolkit also includes advanced AVO and direct hydrocarbon analysis, as well as frequency and amplitude-based attributes.
